Monday Morning Reflections in the Afternoon

I started writing this post this morning but my little man decided to mod podge our patio!  Yep, you read that right!  He some how knocked over my bottle of mod podge and emptied the ENTIRE container out!  A whole container of wipes and ALOT of paper towels later, he’s FINALLY down for a nap!

Summer is coming to an end which means we’re another week closer to the start of the school year!  For those of you who read last weeks post about my daughters high school volleyball tryout adventure, I’m proud to say she made the Freshman Black team!  There were ALOT of Freshman girls trying out for the team and the coaching staff ended up adding a second freshman team to keep some of the girls.  Practice officially started and her first game is coming up in a little over a week!  I’m excited for her and can’t wait to watch her play her first game!

I LOVE shopping!  I especially love getting things for SUPER CHEAP or FREE!  A few months ago I started couponing!  I know, I know, it takes time and work to organize them then to haul the kids to the stores, who wants to do that?  Well, let me tell you when I started couponing I did a few MAJOR stock ups.  We spent around $30 for diapers and wipes during the first week of June that lasted us through the entire summer (we still have 2 packs from our first stock up).  I have a shelf in my laundry room stocked full of FREE deodorant and toothbrushes, super cheap Pantene shampoos and conditioners, and so much more!

Last week Rite Aid had an AWESOME sale on Huggies diapers, for me this was PERFECT timing to stock up again!

Joy Kanani's Huggies SCORE!

I got all 9 packages of diapers for....are you ready....$15.91!

Here’s how I did it:

Trans #1
3 Huggies Little Movers – $8.99 ea = $26.97
1 $5/25 Rite Aid Coupon = -5.00
1 $2/1 Rite Aid Huggies Video Value Coupon* = -2.00
3 $2/1 Huggies Coupon = -6.00
Paid $13.97 and received $6 in +up rewards

Trans #2
3 Huggies Little Movers – $8.99 ea = $26.97
1 $5/25 Rite Aid Coupon = -5.00
1 $2/1 Rite Aid Huggies Video Value Coupon* = -2.00
3 $2/1 Huggies Coupon = -6.00
Paid $13.97 and received $6 in +up rewards

Trans #3
3 Huggies Pure and Natural – $8.99 ea = $26.97
1 $5/25 Rite Aid Coupon = -5.00
1 $2/1 Rite Aid Huggies Video Value Coupon* = -2.00
3 $3/1 Huggies Coupon = -9.00
Subtotal $10.97 used $10 in +up rewards from previos transactions
Paid $0.97 and received $6 in +up rewards.

Out of Pocket $28.91
Unused +Up rewards -8.00
SCR (Single Check Rebate) -5.00
$15.91 after rewards and rebate which makes it $1.76 PER PACK!

* Just a note, my boyfriend has his own Rite Aid card and video values account which gave me one of the Huggies Video Values, my WONDERFUL sister gave me her Huggies video values coupon (she prints/clips Huggies coupons for me), and my own from my account.  Unfortunately we can only submit ONE single check rebate but who would mind paying $1.76 for a pack of Huggies!

Interested in couponing but don’t know where to start?  Here’s a few of my favorite coupon blogs:

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL monday!
