Morning View & an Update to Yesterdays Post

If you read yesterdays post you’re probably wondering what happened with Kid and her Varsity tryouts.  First, let me say that I am SO PROUD of her!  It took a lot for a freshman to tryout for a volleyball team full of super tall girls!  After her morning session she came away feeling strong and confident.  What impressed me most was the fact that she had willingly said that she wouldn’t mind playing only in the back row as a DS or defensive specialist.  This is HUGE for her!  She’s a hitter and has always played in the front row.  Resigning herself to the fact that she doesn’t have the height like some of the other girls, she is confident that she can (and DOES) excel as a back row player.  Throughout this past club season she was one of only two players on her club team, the other being the setter, that stayed in the entire game.  Which I might add is not common as most players have a specific role on the court.

Then onto the afternoon session.  While she still walked out feeling confident, she felt she didn’t hit as well but overall she felt she did well.  Once that was over, it was another agonizing 3 hours or so to wait for the lists to be posted.  Much to her dismay, she was moved to the list of potential JV players.  She still has two more days of tryouts and like we told her, anything can happen!

Onto this morning…This is what my little man and I saw when standing outside on the balcony this morning.  There were TWO of the gorgeous creatures munching away on the blackberries!  I usually see them at night but haven’t had a visit from them for a couple of months now.  Bubs was totally enthralled and kept chattering away.

For those interested, this photo was taken with my iPhone since my camera is out of commission right now and did minor editing in Photoshop CS5.

Have a WONDERFUL Tuesday!
